Meet Our Directors & Staff

Wesley Perkins - Director Of Bands

Hello, I'm Wesley Perkins- Head Band Director here at Madison HS and am about to begin year 24 as an educator. Here's are some tidbits about me: I grew up just down the road in Hondo, TX where I began my musical journey and became passionate about band and playing the trumpet. I earned my Bachelors of Music Education Degree at Texas Tech University where I met my future wife Alicia Perkins in the Goin Band from Raiderland. We've been married for 21 amazing years and have two beautiful children- Caroline age 11 and William age 9. Alicia is also a band director with 23 years of experience that serves Boerne ISD as Head Director of Voss MS. Mr. Perkins is an advocate of the Arts and is a member of both TMEA and Texas Bandmasters Associations. Outside of Band Mr. Perkins enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and is an avid sports fan, especially for the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and my beloved Texas Tech Red Raiders. Should you need to contact Mr. Perkins you can email at: wperki@neisd.net

Oscar is a university student at UTSA with a passion for dance and color guard. After taking several dance classes to advance my knowledge, he realized his favorite style of dance is lyrical or jazz, and he prefers the flag to any other piece of equipment.

Oscar graduated from Southwest Legacy and participated in color guard all four years of high school in addition to dance his senior year. He was captain two of his four years.

After graduating, Oscar attended San Antonio College earning an Associates degree in psychology. He is now enrolled in at The University of Texas at San Antonio working on his bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in dance. During his college experience Oscar enrolled in various dance classes like modern, ballet, musical theater, and improvisation. During this time he also participated in a cheer dance team. In  his free time he enjoys taking various different styles of dance classes.

During the winter season, he also particiaptes in the UIW Infinite Flight independent group which kicked off January 2024. It is an independent winterguard group that is opened to students and community members.
